Led by Maha Ghazale, Mindful Pathways Center recently held a Creative Expression Workshop for elementary students, designed to help them process emotions, build resilience, and navigate challenges through art and storytelling techniques.
Why Creativity?
Children often struggle to express their emotions verbally, especially when dealing with stress, transitions, or difficult experiences. By engaging in creative arts and storytelling, they can explore their feelings, process emotions safely, and develop problem-solving skills in a way that feels natural and empowering.
Workshop Highlights:
🎨 Art as Self-Expression – Students used drawing, painting, and mixed media to visually represent their emotions, giving shape and color to their inner experiences.
📖 Storytelling for Emotional Processing – Guided storytelling activities helped children externalize challenges and explore solutions through imaginative play and role-playing techniques.
🌀 Mindfulness & Reflection – Through creative exercises, students developed self-awareness and emotional regulation skills, learning to name and understand their emotions.
🤝 Building Connection – Sharing artwork and personal stories fostered community and empathy, helping students realize they are not alone in their struggles.
